A small basket and lid has been woven from willow, grown in my fenland garden. Deep green cotton velvet lines the basket and holds a perfectly sized pine cone. The long necklace / strap is made from finger knitted raffia, so the basket can be worn across the body. A small piece of cherry tree twig has been worked to form a toggle closure for the lid, keeping the pine cone safe and nestled inside. The pine cone is from a Scots Pine tree. These trees form the distinctive character of the Brecklands in East Anglia.
A unique one off art / jewellery piece that can be worn with casual or smart clothing.
Strap measures 138cm in length, to wear the basket across your body.
