Norway Maple Necklace
Norway Maple Samara Seed Necklace
Two wide winged seeds are suspended on silver spiral wires, imitating the movement of samara seeds as they fall to earth. Both seeds freely rotate on the wires.
Every species of winged seed has a different appearance and are often given different names in different counties, for example in Cambridgeshire they are known as 'Helicopters'. In Yorkshire, known as 'Spinning Jennies', from the textile industry.
A copper name plate has been added into the links of the necklace. A large bronze 'field find' ring unites the different elements, linking the chain and suspending the seeds . The sterling silver chain measures 60cm up to the bronze field find ring.
The whole piece has been patinated to give it an earthy rustic feel, as if found in the fields.
This necklace will be carefully packed in a hand printed gift box and sent via Royal Mail, Special Delivery.
